staff winter schedule
Welcome back!
It’s been a refreshing break here at the farm, with a nice easy pace to work at setting up for the next growing season. The greenhouse is coming along and we now have the irrigation hook up to be able to grow again back on the home farm in the Jefferson field. This is where the crop began for our first Greenmarket stand in 2016. A lot to look forward to on this 10th year!
Right now this winter schedule sign-up covers January and February (Saturdays only) along with the month of March when we start Wednesdays again. April 1st is the market new year and we should have potted plants to sell then. I expect we’ll have more staffing this spring since there will be more traffic (and questions) with the plants. I’m hoping the greenhouse will be planted in mid-February (we’ll see) so fresh herbs can be harvested in April as well.

Market can be quieter with bursts of customers throughout the day. I’m always amazed at all-weather New Yorkers who are undeterred and come out to support us. Some are coming out because they really need an elecampane or immunity stock up, they make us feel very appreciated. There’s lots of time to converse and get to know our neighbors at the stands. This time of year we often leave earlier, however I left the standard times below just in case we have a later day for some reason. We will usually leave GAP and USQ-Wed by 4pm in the winter, and USQ-Sat is generally by 5pm.
